Institution’s Participation in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
As part of its commitment to institutional social responsibility and community engagement, the institution actively participates in the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) programme. Rooted in Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of village-centric national development, the institution has adopted the following five villages under the UBA framework:
- Kattampatti
- Karegoundenpalayam
- Allapalayam
- Illuppanatham
- Kondayampalayam
Through these adoptions, the institution serves as a knowledge partner and facilitator, engaging faculty members, students, and local stakeholders to address rural development challenges in a structured and sustainable manner.
Objectives:
- To identify rural challenges through baseline surveys and field studies.
- To promote environmental sustainability and green practices.
- To enhance student experiential learning and social responsibility.
- To integrate cultural heritage and community engagement.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic plan for the implementation of UBA activities in alignment with the program’s objectives and guidelines.
- Coordinate with the college administration, faculty, students, and external stakeholders (e.g., local government, NGOs) to facilitate UBA activities.
- Prepare and manage the budget for UBA activities, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
