
KiTE students continue to make their mark at India’s most competitive technology platforms, including the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH). A flagship initiative of the Government of India, SIH brings together millions of talented young innovators from engineering institutions across the country to solve real-world challenges posed by leading public and private sector organizations. At the 2025 edition of the Smart India Hackathon, hosted at the International Institute of Information Technology (llIT), Pune, KiTE students Rishvanth K K, Mourish Antony C, and Dharshika Pugalenthi from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science were named the Joint Winners of the Smart India Hackathon 2025 – Software Edition. The team, competing under the banner of Team Neurax, shone in the intense 36-hour marathon event, supported by industry leaders including TCS, Persistent, and SBI Foundation, with Claude as the technology partner. The award-winning solution addressed the Ministry of Science and Technology’s MedTech/BioTech/HealthTech problem statement on Digital Contact Tracing and Screening Tools for MDR Pathogens in Hospitals. In recognition of their achievement, Team Neurax was awarded a cash prize of 75,000 rupees.
