Biography
Dr. Karthick Ramalingam is an electrochemist and materials scientist specializing in sustainable energy conversion and storage technologies. His research portfolio spans dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), solar-driven electrochemical systems, and advanced photoelectrochemical processes for environmental applications.
He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry (2013–2018) from the CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), India, where he developed novel low-cost cathode materials for DSSCs. Following his doctorate, he pursued postdoctoral research (2018–2020) at the South China Normal University, China, focusing on designing a solar-driven sustained electrochemical desalination device.
His exceptional performance led to a promotion to Research Professor (2020–2022) at the same institution, where he expanded his research program, secured funding, and co-supervised Ph.D. students. From 2022 to 2024, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland, leading research on photoelectrochemical water splitting and materials for Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS).
He has a strong scholarly record, with 25 peer-reviewed publications, including 12 first-authored papers & four main corresponding author, one book chapter, and one edited book. His contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Foreign Young Talent Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology, China, and the National Young Researcher Award from STEM, India.
