Biography
Dr. R. Srinivasan is working as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and as the Controller of Examinations. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University. His areas of specialization include Additive Manufacturing, Welding, and Polymer Composites. With over 25 years of teaching and administrative experience, he has made significant contributions to engineering education and academic leadership.
He has published more than 20 research papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
He has successfully received competitive funding and coordinated several Faculty Development and Training Programmes. He was awarded a grant of Rs. 93,000/- from AICTE–ISTE for organizing a six-day online Induction/Refresher Programme titled “Curriculum Design, Assessment, Evaluation, and Innovative Teaching and Learning to Achieve Outcome-Based Education,” conducted from 19.02.2022 to 25.02.2022. He also received Rs. 3,42,500/- from AICTE for coordinating a Short-Term Training Programme (STTP) titled “Enhancing Research and Development through Project-Based Learning to Achieve Outcome-Based Education in Engineering,” conducted in three series from 22.10.2020 to 12.12.2020.
He has served as Coordinator for multiple Anna University Faculty Development Training Programmes, including Dynamics of Machines (15th–21st May 2017), Finite Element Analysis (18th–24th December 2017), and Kinematics of Machinery (15th–21st December 2014). Additionally, he organized a two-day ICMR-sponsored workshop titled “Customized Design and Manufacturing of Implants and Prostheses Using MIMICS – 3D Printing Technology,” held on 23rd and 24th March 2017.
He is also an active proponent of continuous learning and digital education. He has successfully completed 12 SWAYAM MOOC courses and received the NPTEL Believer, Discipline Star, and Enthusiast Certificates of Appreciation in December 2020, recognizing his strong commitment to lifelong learning.
